Prices of agricultural products in Kazakhstan increase

In Kazakhstan, prices of agricultural products sold by agricultural enterprises in December 2018 increased by 7.8 percent year-on-year, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.

In particular, livestock products have risen in price by 5.3 percent and crop products by 9.1 percent.

According to the Statistics Committee of the Kazakh National Economy Ministry, since the beginning of last year, price of wheat has increased by 16.1 percent, rye by 8.1 percent, oats by 7.3 percent, corn by 6.9 percent, rice by 6.7 percent, barley by 6 percent, and buckwheat price has decreased by 14.1 percent.

Price of potatoes dropped by 14.1 percent, carrots by 6.4 percent, onions by 5.5 percent, while cabbage rose in price by 5.4 percent and beets by 3.2 percent.

Also, the price of dried peas increased by 16.4 percent, sunflower seeds by 9.6 percent, cotton by 8.1 percent, and the price of sugar beet decreased by 19.6 percent.

Poultry meat rose in price by 4.5 percent, beef by 4.2 percent, horse meat by 3.7 percent, lamb meat by 3.3 percent and pork by 2.5 percent.

In addition, price of eggs rose by 12.9 percent, honey by 7.5 percent, and raw milk by 5.9 percent.
