Time-frame for commissioning high-speed railway between two Turkish provinces announced

The opening ceremony of the high-speed railway between the Turkish Samsun and Sivas provinces will be held in mid-2019, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Jan. 21.

The construction of the high-speed railway between these provinces was launched in September 2015.

"The total length of the high-speed railway between Samsun and Sivas provinces is 378 kilometers," the ministry said.

The project is worth 1.2 billion Turkish liras.

"The high-speed railway between Samsun and Sivas provinces is being constructed within the government’s 2023 Vision project," the ministry said.

Presently, the work is underway to implement 50 transport and communication projects in Turkey.
