John Deere aims at expanding range of agriculture equipment supplied to Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Markwart von Pentz, President of the Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division of the US company John Deere, Trend reports with reference to local TV channel Watan.

Having reported that John Deere has been operating in the Turkmen market for over 25 years, the businessman expressed the company’s interest in expanding the range of agriculture equipment supplied to the country including a modernized line of cotton and grain combine harvesters as well as various tractors that meet the soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan, the report said.

Turkmenistan aims to modernize the material and technical base of the agricultural sector in the context of the program of socio-economic development of the country for 2019-2025. For the period of operations in the country, the company has supplied thousands of units of various agricultural equipment of its brand to Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan plans to produce 1.6 million tons of grain and 1.050 million tons of cotton this year. Traditionally, around 760,000 hectares of land are allocated for grain and with 545,000 hectares allocated for cotton.
