Iran's auto production falls in 2019

The auto production of two major Iranian automakers Iran Khodro and SIPA Group have dropped during the spring of 2019.

Statistics released by Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade indicate drop in auto production during first three months of current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019)," Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iran Khodro produced 88,683 vehicles, which is 38.7 percent fall in production, while SIPA auto production reduced to 100,607 vehicles, which is a decrease by 31.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

As reported, Iran Khodro produced 245 pickup trucks (decrease by 83 percent), 47 minibuses and buses, and 344 trucks and towing vehicles (increase by 14.6 percent and 2.1 percent respectively).

SIPA Group has produced 89,913 vehicles (decrease by 34.2 percent). The company produced two vans only, which is 91.3 percent fall compared to last year. At the same time, the automaker produced 10,590 pickup trucks, which shows growth by 11.1 percent. During the reported period, SIPA Group did not produce any minibuses and buses, while the production of trucks decreased by 92.2 percent to 102 vehicles.
