Export Price Index increases in Georgia

The Export Price Index (XPI) in Georgia increased by 2.5 percent in June 2019 compared to the previous month, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

There was a 2.3 percent increase in the prices for manufactured products. Compared to June 2018, the XPI increased by 8.9 percent. The prices for manufactured products increased by 9.5 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 6.4 percent.

In June 2019, the Import Price Index (MPI) in Georgia increased by 11.7 percent compared to June 2018.

Compared to June 2018, the prices for manufactured products increased by 10.8 percent, for products from mining and quarrying by 19.7 percent, and for electricity, gas, steam and hot water - by 12.6 percent.

Georgia's top exported commodities in January-June 2019 included copper ores and concentrates (worth $306.6 million, or 17.3 percent of total exports), cars (worth $260.5 million, or 14.7 percent of total exports), and ferro-alloys (worth $179.2 million, or 10.1 percent of total exports).

Georgia's top imported commodities included petroleum and petroleum oils (worth $341.2 million, or 8.1 percent of total imports), cars (worth $308.8 million or 7.4 percent of total imports), and copper ores and concentrates (worth $266.8 million, or 6.4 percent of total imports).
