Iran’s IMIDRO increases lead, zinc production

An increase has been observed in the extraction and production of lead and zinc by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) during the first 3 months (March 21 - June 21) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

According to the report, 141,976 tons of mining products were extracted in Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc and Barite Complex in Iran’s Yazd Province. This figure increased by 1,595 percent compared to the figure from the same period last year (8,378 tons), and exceeded the production plan (40,000 tons) by 355 percent.

Moreover, 2,142 tons of lead concentrate was produced in the Nakhlak Lead and Zinc Plant of Isfahan Province during the aforementioned period. This figure increased by 11 percent compared to the figure from the same period last year (1,923 tons).

The mine also produced 14,433 tons of mining products, which shows a 6-percent decrease compared to the same period last year (15,298 tons).

Also, the Anguran lead and zinc complex located in Iran's Zanjan Province produced 193,355 tons of minerals over the three-month period. This figure shows a 48-percent decrease compared to the same period last year (371,760 tons).
