Kazakh export to EAEU countries down be over 5%

The value of trade turnover between countries of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to $33.246 billion during first seven months of 2019, which is 3.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission data.

Compared to the same period of last year, the share of mutual trade in total volume of foreign trade of EAEU countries decreased from 14.1 percent to 13.9 percent during the reporting period. The share of mutual trade with Belarus decreased from 50.7 percent to 50.2 percent, with Kazakhstan from 21.8 percent to 21.1 percent, and with Kyrgyzstan from 39 percent to 37.9 percent. The share of mutual trade of EAEU countries with Russia did not change and equaled 8.6 percent.

The value of mutual trade of Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to $10.567 billion, which is 1.4 percent less than during the same period of last year. This includes Kazakhstan export worth $3.044 billion (decrease of 4.3 percent) and Russian export worth $7.523 billion (decrease of 0.1 percent).

Furthermore, the value of mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Belarus amounted to $515.9 million, which is 0.6 percent less than during the same period of 2018. This includes Kazakh export worth $57.4 million (decrease of 13.6 percent) and export from Belarus worth $458.5 million (increase of 1.3 percent).

The value of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan bilateral trade equaled $500.3 million (decrease of 8.9 percent), which includes export from Kazakhstan worth $317.3 million (decrease of 16.6 percent) and export from Kyrgyzstan worth $183 million (increase of 8.7 percent).

According to the report, the value of Kazakh export to the EAEU market decreased by 5.7 percent during the reporting period due to the decrease of metal and metal products export by 16.6 percent and of chemical industry goods by 14.6 percent.

In turn, the value of Kazakh export of mineral products increased by one percent, of food products and agriculture raw materials by 6.5 percent, and of machinery, equipment and vehicles by 15.5 percent.
