The number of vehicles manufactured in Kazakhstan during first nine months of 2019 amounted to 33,500 vehicles, which is 47.5 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the data of The Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business (AKAB).
According to the information, the value of cars manufactured during the reporting period equaled 288.979 billion tenge (approximately $742.66 million), which is 62.5 percent more than during the same period of last year.
The number of passenger cars manufactured during the reporting period was 29,846 vehicles, which is 41.2 percent more than during the same period of last year. The share of passengers cars in the total volume of cars manufactured reached 89.1 percent during the reporting period compared to 93 percent last year.
Furthermore, manufacturing of commercial vehicles increased by 2.5 times and equaled 2,133 vehicles. Manufacturing of buses increased by 3.5 times and amounted to 848 vehicles. Manufacturing of trailers and semi-trailers equaled 613 vehicles (growth of 58 percent) and manufacturing of specialized vehicles amounted to 60 vehicles.
Fifty percent of the total manufactured volume accounts for SaryarkaAutoProm plant, which has doubled the manufacturing to 16,442 vehicles.
Based on the preliminary results, Asia Auto plant increased manufacturing by nearly 10 percent to 14,358 vehicles.
Based on the forecast of AKAB, automobile market in Kazakhstan will exceed 70,000 vehicles this year, 40,000 of which will account for locally manufactured vehicles.
