US companies seek to enter Uzbekistan’s market

US Continental Tires, Taylor Power Systems and McNeely companies intend to enter the Uzbek market next year, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

During the working visit of the head of Uzbekistan’s region of Zarafshan Anvar Rajabov, to Clinton, Mississippi, negotiations were held with representatives of Continental Tires on the production of truck and car tires. It is expected to establish production of the enterprise in Uzbekistan.

Also, the Uzbek side discussed the possibility of producing plastic bags with the McNeely company, which specializes in the production of plastic bags for the chemical and food industries.

Uzbekistan's delegation also met with one of the largest manufacturers of industrial generators with a capacity of 15-1000 kW - Taylor Power Systems. The prospects of localization of production of industrial generators in Uzbekistan were considered with them.

Rajabov also met with the leadership of Mississippi State College, where the sides discussed issues of exchange of students and teachers, the implementation of double-degree education programs and online education.

The parties agreed to develop an agreement on cooperation between the college and educational institutions of Zarafshan the signing of which is scheduled for December this year.

In May 2019, a delegation from the US led by the Governor of Mississippi Phil Bryant visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, an agreement was signed on establishing twinning relations between Zarafshan and Clinton.

The next visit of the US delegation with the participation of representatives of business and academic circles of Clinton in Uzbekistan will take place in May 2020.
