Baku Textile Factory to increase knitwear production

Azerbaijan’s Baku Textile Factory (BTF) will increase knitwear production, the BTF Director Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

Presently, the enterprise is also aimed at increasing the export potential, Babayeva said.

“About 50,000 knitted goods are produced monthly at the enterprise, and over 16 tons of knitted yarn are used in the production process. We are going to increase the production of knitted yarn up to 20 tons, and the finished knitwear output to 60,000–65,000 units per month”, the director said.

Next year, the company plans to increase the export volume of knitted products by 1.5-2 times.

"We aim to bringing our products to foreign markets, so we will increase the production capacity of the enterprise from next year,” Babayeva said.

At present, 300 people work at the BTF. The factory uses seven production lines.

The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first factory in the South Caucasus in the field of textile industry.

Presently, the factory operates according to the European standards. BTF has been provided with the latest German and Japanese equipment and technologies and it employs experienced staff.

The factory produces daily clothes, evening dresses, corporate, children's, sports and medical clothes, as well as overalls, school and military uniform.
