In the new 2020 year, Uzbekistan’s UzAuto Motors will begin preparations to launch a project on production of ONIX cars and other new models on a single platform, Trend reports citing the press service of UzAuto Motors.
The time when the model goes on sale has not been announced.
As part of the preparatory work, the production process at the enterprise is temporarily suspended until January 6.
Over the next year, scheduled production shutdowns are planned. They will not affect the volume of production and the schedule of deliveries of cars, the company said.
Onix's localization level will gradually increase to 60 percent.
Onix is a budget sedan. It is built on a shortened and somewhat simplified Delta platform, inherited from the first-generation Chevrolet Cruze.
The Chevrolet Cavalier sedan is also based on this "cart". Thus, the suspension scheme is simple and budget (front MacPherson strut, rear beam working on a bend), and the rear brakes are archaic drum.
On December 25, UzAuto Motors presented four Chevrolet models of the premium segment - Tahoe, Traverse, Trailblazer and Equinox, and their prices. During the first day of sales, 85 vehicles of these models were contracted.
