Georgia increases export of fertilizers to Azerbaijan

In 2019, Georgia increased the export of mineral and chemical fertilizers to Azerbaijan by 6.4 times (21,348 tons) compared to 2018, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Last year, Georgia exported 25,291 tons of mineral and chemical fertilizers worth $4.7 million to Azerbaijan.

In 2018, Azerbaijan imported 3,943 tons of fertilizers worth $741,600 from Georgia.

In 2019, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $12.8 billion, 2.7 percent higher year-on-year.

The exports equaled $3.7 billion (12.4 percent higher), while the imports stood at $9.1 billion (0.8 percent lower).

In 2019, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 73.3 percent. The top partners were Azerbaijan ($498.7 million) and Russia ($497.1 million).
