By Matanat Nasibova – Trend:

SAB company, dairy and meat producer in Azerbaijan, plans to increase production of sausages, Rovshan Abdullayev, the company’s chief marketing manager, told Trend.

The daily volume of the manufacture of sausage products is 10 tons, said the manager.

“We plan to increase production by 1.5 times this year,” Abdullayev noted. “This includes manufacture of a halal (food prepared according to Islamic law, free from pork products, alcohol and certain other ingredients) line of products. In this regard, we plan to develop new types of sausages, as well as launch a line of gourmet products.”

The manager added that the company’s products are in quite great demand, but given the fierce competition in the market, it is extremely difficult to maintain a high standard in the local market.

“From time to time, new products and new manufacturers appear in the market,” said Abdullayev. “On the one hand, this certainly encourages us to search for new approaches, develop new products, etc. However, there are certain difficulties that we, as manufacturers, encounter in the local market."

"The greatest discomfort is created for us by major chains of stores where our products are sold. The owners of supermarkets demand big discounts from companies, and thus often offer unfavorable conditions for cooperation,” the manager added. “Problems also arise in matters of returning products. Sometimes the volume of returned products exceeds acceptable norms.”

Presently, the company produces 60 types of meat products and 50 types of dairy products under SAB brand.

The company’s production facility is located in Azerbaijan’s Khirdalan city.
