The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan prepares to sign a loan agreement with John Credit Inc. (USA), Trend reports citing Тurkmen Dovlet Khabarlari state news agency.
The agreement envisages to allocate $42 million for financing agricultural machinery supplies.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Turkmenistan intends to sign a contract for purchase of agricultural machinery, aggregates, as well as their spare parts under the condition of their delivery in 2020, with German branch of John Deere.
In November last year, the company reported that due to the deal with John Deere Turkmenistan would be able to fully mechanize cotton harvesting. Through the contract on purchasing 600 cotton-harvesting machines produced by John Deere, their total number in the country will exceed 1,000 by 2020, the report said.
John Deere has been supplying the agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan for more than 25 years, however such a large-scale agreement aimed at cotton-harvesting was signed for the first time.
