By Fidan Babayeva – Trend:
The Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials of Azerbaijan plans to increase the volume of production of building materials, the Association Chairman Elkhan Bashirov told Trend.
“Currently, the market for building materials isn't in good situation, since the demand has decreased. Compared to the previous two years, the level of demand has significantly decreased,” said Bashirov.
According to him, 2.5 percent of the total sales accounted for export to foreign countries.
"In 2020, we plan to increase the production of building materials by 80 percent," Bashirov said.
“Since the beginning of this year, glass, parquet, and facade materials have been of the greatest demand abroad. Some 30 percent of the cost of building materials are rail, road and sea transportation costs. There is no such thing anywhere in the world. We believe that transportation costs should make up a maximum of 5 percent of the production cost," Bashirov said.
