Iran will increase its product exports via ships, said Hamid Zadbum, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran and Chairman of the Trade Development Organization, Trend reports citing IMIDRO.
According to Zadbum, Iran may boost exports via the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Oman Gulf and the Indian Ocean.
Zadbum added that annually, there are a total of 72 trips to the Russian ports in Astrakhan, as well as Aktau (Kazakhstan) and Baku. In order to reduce transportation costs in these directions, the price for each ton of products exported was reduced by 50 percent.
Iran has exported more than 125 million tons of products worth $38.5 billion over 11 months (from March 21, 2019 to February 19, 2020). China, Iraq, Turkey, the UAE and Afghanistan are in the top five in Iran's exports. Iran imported 32.4 million tons of products worth $ 39.9 billion. The products are mainly imported from China, UAE, Turkey, India and Germany.
