Currently, there are no changes in the prices for Azerbaijan’s Az-Granata products, a source in the company told Trend.
“The current prices for both food and non-food products remained unchanged,” the source said. “But it is planned to increase prices for alcoholic beverages.”
"Both the prices for imported alcoholic products and the local ones will increase soon, but the exact prices are currently unknown," the source said.
“The company has 350 hectares of pomegranate gardens located in Azerbaijan’s Agsu district,” the source said. “The productivity of pomegranate products is growing steadily every year.”
"Our company is able to meet the growing demand due to a decrease in imported products in the market of alcoholic beverages, in particular vodka, cognac, whiskey,” the source said.
“The pomegranate concentrate is in great demand,” the source said. “The production and export of these products has increased by three times recently. The demand for pomegranate juices, cognacs and wine has been growing recently.”
In connection with an increase in the number of the countries wishing to import pomegranate products, the production volume is also increasing. To date, according to the statistics, the monthly volume of products is 500,000 finished products. It is planned to increase the production of Az-Granata products by 15-20 percent by late 2020.
“The export of products to China and European countries at this stage is difficult due to coronavirus,” the source said. “Logistic orders are not carried out there, goods are unloaded late, public catering facilities are not working well. This may negatively affect our export if it continues for a long time.”
The Az-Granata plant, built in 2011 on an area of 12.5 hectares, is one of the biggest producers of alcoholic beverages in the South Caucasus. Besides brandy and wine, the company produces liqueurs, vodka, as well as fruit juices.
