Domestic Producer Price Index decreases in Georgia

In February 2020б the Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) decreased by 0.1 percent in Georgia compared to January 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

As reported, in the mentioned period, the prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning decreased by 0.9 percent.

The DPPI increased by 4.3 percent in February 2020, as compared to February 2019. The prices went up for mining and quarrying products by 14.8, for manufactured products by 4.7 percent and for products from electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 5.8 percent.

In February 2020, the Export Price Index (XPI) decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous month. There was a 0.9 percent decrease in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to February 2019, the XPI increased by 10.5 percent. In the mentioned period, prices increased for manufactured products by 8 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 29.4 percent.

In February 2020, the Import Price Index (MPI) decreased by 1.6 percent over the previous month, while compared to February 2019, the Index increased by 7.3 percent.

Compared to February 2019, the prices were 7.9 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price decrease of 0.4 percent was registered. With regard to electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the prices were 25.5 percent higher.
