The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov has ordered to increase the production of handmade carpets, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal Information Portal.
Berdimuhammedov gave the instruction during a working government meeting.
The president ordered to intensify activities related to the promotion of handmade carpets of Turkmenistan in the world, for which services of trading houses of Turkmenistan in other countries must be used.
He also gave order to build new carpet workshops and modernize production structures. The head of state emphasized the need to preserve and improve carpet weaving traditions.
Turkmenkover State Association produces and exports pure wool pile handmade Turkmen carpets. This Association is the main supplier of Turkmen carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
