Kazakhstan reveals stats on purchases, sales of real estate

The number of purchase and sale of housing transactions implemented in Kazakhstan amounted to 21,582 transactions in Mar. 2020, which is 6.1 percent less than during Feb.2020 and 12.8 percent more than during Mar. 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Total number of purchase and sale of housing transactions implemented in Kazakhstan over the period from Jan. to Mar. 2020 amounted to 66,225 transactions, which is 12.8 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The largest number of purchase and sale of housing transactions was observed in country’s Almaty city. The number of transactions in Almaty amounted to 3,241 transactions, which is 23.6 percent less than in Feb. 2020 and 9.6 percent less than in Mar. 2019. Almaty also leads by the number of purchase and sale of housing transactions decrease compared to both Feb. 2020 and Mar. 2019.

Almaty is followed by Nur-Sultan city, with 2,484 purchase and sale of housing transactions, which is 20 percent less than during Feb. 2020 and 2.9 percent more than in Mar. 2019.

Karaganda region is third by the number of purchase and sale of housing transactions, which stood at 2,333 transactions in Mar. 2020, showing a 6.9-percent decrease compared to Feb. 2020, but a 30-percent increase compared to Mar. 2019.

The least number of purchase and sale of housing transactions during Mar. 2020 was observed in Kyzylorda region (430 transactions, decrease by 0.2 percent compared to Feb.2020 and by 15.6 percent compared to Mar. 2019),

The largest monthly increase in the number of purchase and sale of housing transactions during the reporting month was observed in North Kazakhstan region, where 736 transactions were reported, which is 15.2 percent more than in Feb. 2020.

The largest annual increase was observed in Mangystau region, where 1,107 transactions were implemented in Mar. 2020, which is 52.7 percent more compared to Mar. 2019.
