The Ministry of textile industry of Turkmenistan will purchase cotton fibers for processing, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree that allows the Ministry of Textile Industry to purchase various types of cotton fiber for industrial processing from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection for a suitable price.
The document was signed in order to effectively use the production capacity of enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry.
Cotton is one of the agricultural crops of Turkmenistan. The priority is given to increase the production volumes. Both cotton itself and the textiles made from it are in demand on the world markets and are the country's export product.
The climate of Turkmenistan is suitable for the development of cotton farming. High temperatures, plenty of sun, and rare rains favorably affected the cultivation of the crop. Multi-industry enterprises of the textile sector of the region work on cotton raw materials.
