Grain, leguminous crops sowing underway in Kazakhstan's Akmola region

Nearly 591,000 ha of area for grain and leguminous crops (13.1 percent of the plan), over 39,000 ha for oilseeds (15.5 percent) and 51,000 ha of fodder crops (28.4 percent) have been sown in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

Mamin got acquainted with the sowing process in the region during his working trip.

This year, ​​spring sowing in the Akmola region will be carried out on 4.9 million hectares, 4.4 million of which will be used for sowing grain.

Nearly 32,000 pieces of agricultural machinery are involved in field work, including over 14,000 tractors, 16,000 grain seeders and 1,250 sowing complexes. Some 68,000 tons of guaranteed diesel fuel were allocated for spring-field work in the region, the cost of which was reduced to 165 tenge per liter.

The sowing work is to be completed in the optimal time of 20-25 business days.

During his visit, Mamin got acquainted with sowing in Sandyktau and Akkol districts, the material and technical base of local agricultural enterprises, projects for cultivating and cleaning grain and fodder crops, as well as plans for production expansion of meat and dairy products.

The press office said that gross agricultural output in Akmola region increased by 3.5 percent over the course of first four months of 2020 compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

Production of processed meat increased by 22.1 percent (19,000 tons), dairy products by 0.4 percent (26,000 tons), flour by 29 percent (122,000 tons) and vegetable oil by 42.1 percent (8,000 tons).
