Russia became the main trading partner of Uzbekistan during the period of January through April 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Following the results of the mentioned period, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover made up $10.8 billion which is $1.2 billion less than in the same period of 2020.
The volume of exports made $4.4 billion (10.6 percent less than a year ago), imports - $6.4 billion (10.8 percent less than a year ago).
Russia (total trade turnover - $1.8 billion) has become Uzbekistan's main trade partner during the first four months of 2020, shifting China ($1.7 billion) to second place. Kazakhstan ($898.7 million), South Korea ($795.9 million) and Turkey ($601.3 million) follow next.
Uzbekistan imported $1.28 million worth of goods from China and $1.27 million worth of goods from Russia. In general, trade turnover with China decreased by more than $500 million compared to the same period last year (in 2019 it was $2.3 billion).
Gold heads the export volume with $1.5 billion in the period from January through April 2020. Industrial goods ($753.8 million) and services ($749.3 million) are second and third respectively.
Uzbekistan imported mostly machinery and transport equipment (2.327 billion units), industrial goods (1.055 billion units) and chemicals (848 million units).
