Sales through Azerbaijan's Azexport website increase

Export orders in the amount of $209.2 million were executed through the Azexport website in the first four months of 2020, which is 9.6 percent less compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports citing Export Review of Azerbaijan's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

In April 2020, export orders worth $61.5 million were carried out through the website, which is 20.8 percent more compared to April of last year.

Totally, since early 2017 through April 2020, the orders for the supply of non-oil products worth $1.7 billion from Azerbaijan to 141 countries of the world were executed.

In April of this year, the top-10 exported goods of the Azexport website were tomatoes, eggs, eggplant, potatoes, sheep’s wool, onions, cottonseed oil, cabbage, honey and mushrooms.

The Azexport website (www.azexport.az) was created upon the president’s order on creating a unified database of goods manufactured in Azerbaijan dated September 21, 2016. The main exported products are tobacco, chicken and eggs, hazelnuts, cottonseed oil, wine, pomegranate, onions, cosmetics, medical gauze, furniture, paint, confectionery, milk with fruit additives, mineral water and garlic.

The goal of the website, which is managed by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, is to provide information on products of Azerbaijani origin; it is an effective platform for their selling in foreign and domestic markets.
