New textile complexes to be opened in Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10

New complexes, in particular those in spinning, textile, dyeing and clothing industries will be opened in the Kakasky and Babadaykhan districts of the Akhal region, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan told Trend.

"The Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan has over 70 enterprises subordinate to it, which deal with production of various types of cotton and mixed yarns, cotton and mixed fabrics, fur fabrics, denim fabrics, knitwear, as well as those engaged in selling products made from these fabrics," said the embassy.

For the manufacturing of high-quality products, the enterprises are using modern machinery.

The textile factories undergo regular partial modernization (modernization of technology and auxiliary equipment).

The main enterprises of the textile industry are the Turkmenbashi Textile Complex, Gap-Turkmen company, the Ashgabat Textile Complex, the Ruhabat Textile Complex, the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Bayramaly Textile Complex.

More than 55 percent of textiles in the country are currently produced for export.

Turkmenistan's textile products are exported to more than 30 countries, including the US, Great Britain, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Turkmenistan annually grows more than one million tons of cotton, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile industry.

In general, the state pays big attention to the development of the textile industry in the country.
