Some 3,570 tons of yarn manufactured in Turkmenabat Cotton-Spinning Factory have been exported since the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun.news.
The factory's products are purchased by companies from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and Kyrgyzstan.
The factory was commissioned in 2009.
Turkmenistan grows more than one million tons of cotton annually, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile industry. Up to 70 percent of the grown raw materials are processed in the country.
The textile industry of Turkmenistan is represented by a wide range of exported goods – from cotton fiber and yarn to ready-made garments and knitwear.
The products of home textiles, sports and jeans wear, produced under world-famous trademarks of IKEA, Puma, Wal-Mart, Lidl, Bershka; Pull&Bear, River Island, Cosco constitute a substantial part of the products of Turkmenistan supplied abroad.
