Manufacturing industry of Uzbekistan showed growth in physical volume by 2.2 percent in the 1H2020, Trend reports with reference to State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In monetary terms, manufacturing enterprises' production amounted to 135.6 trillion soum ($13.2 billion) in the first half of 2020, which is 2.3 percent less than in the first half of 2019, taking into account the devaluation of the national currency.
A decrease in the volume of production of mining and quarrying enterprises of Uzbekistan in physical terms continues. From January through April 2020, it made up 18.3 percent, in the period from January through May - 18.9 percent, and in the period from January through June 2020, the figure reached 20.1 percent.
Furthermore, the decrease in the production of the enterprises of the mining industry taking into account the devaluation of the national currency, reached 25,4 percent in 1H2020 compared to the same period of 2019.
Meanwhile, the production of consumer goods in Uzbekistan increased in physical volume by 1.2 percent from January through June 2020 compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 54.6 trillion soum ($5.3 billion).
