Trading at Iran Mercantile Exchange revealed

A total of 3.15 million tons of products worth 303 trillion rials (about $7.21 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

According to the report, this is an increase of 44 percent in terms of value and 17 percent in terms of volume compared to the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020).

More than 2.67 million tons of products worth 210 trillion rials (about $5 billion) were sold at IME over the 5th month.

According to the report, 1.73 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 124 trillion rials (about $2.95 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the 6th month.

“About 538,000 tons of bitumen, 321,000 tons of polymeric substances, 158,000 tons of chemicals, 200 tons of slaps wax, and 491,000 tons of vacuum bottom products were sold in this section,” the report said.

In addition, 6,000 tons of glass facades, 8,440 tons of base oil, 55,800 tons of sulfur, 710 tons of argon, and 154,000 tons of lube cut were sold in the section, the report noted.

According to the report, over 1.4 million tons of products worth 178 trillion rials (about $4.23 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section.

“About 1.3 million tons of steel products, 24,300 tons of copper products, 60 tons of precious metal concentrate, 600 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 34,800 tons of aluminum, 24,500 tons of zinc ingots, 650 tons of coke and 55 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section,” the report added.

According to the report, at the same time, 20,000 tons of various products, as well as 2.3 tons of saffron were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
