Iran talks details of exporting mining materials

Iran exported about 5 million tons of mining materials worth $1.8 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020), Chairperson of the Mining Industry Group of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Ilaha Mokri said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

The chairperson stressed that 2.21 million tons of steel ingots worth $767 million were exported over five months.

Mokri added $263 million worth of cathode copper, $238 million worth of long steel products, $73 million worth of zinc ingots, $56 million worth of steel rolls, $51 million worth of copper concentrate and $50 million worth of iron ore were exported during the reporting period.

“These products accounted for 83 percent of Iran's total mining materials export,” she said.

The chairperson noted Iran exported goods worth $202 million to China, worth $201 million to Iraq, worth $179 million to Indonesia, worth $158 million to Turkey, worth $128 million to Thailand and worth $102 million to Afghanistan.

"In addition, Iran exported goods worth $55 million to the UAE, worth $46 million to Oman, worth $43 million to India, worth $43 million to Ghana and worth $17 million to Pakistan. In general, 89 percent of Iran’s mining materials were exported to these countries," she said.
