Uzbekistan, Latvia in talks to develop bilateral co-op in industrial, scientific fields

Uzbekistan and Latvia discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in economic, industrial and scientific and technical fields, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo information agency.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the President of Latvia Solveiga Silkalna considered the issues of the current agenda of the Uzbek-Latvian cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment-technological and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The parties exchanged views on upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels, as well as interaction within the framework of international multilateral structures, including the UN.

During the discussion it was outlined that a close political dialogue is maintained between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Consultation mechanisms are effective, despite the pandemic, and mutual trade is growing.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the holding in 2020 of the 8th meeting of the Uzbek-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial and Scientific and Technical Cooperation in an online format.
