The head of Alborz Industrial Towns Company in Iran has announced that 90 percent of the country's health and cosmetic products are produced in this province, Trend reports via IRNA.
“The province's clothing production sector was named the country's top sector in the current Iranian year (started on March 20),” Ali Mehdipour said.
"Supporting the production in the province with the aim of increasing employment and exports is on the agenda,” he said.
"Measures have been taken to support production and exports in the province, and have resulted in $4 million worth of exports in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started on March 20), including food, medicine, health, detergents, plastics and paraffin to other countries, including Iraq,” he said.
Mehdipour went on to announce that an export consortium is being formed to better export goods from the province.
Referring to the reactivation of 29 production and industrial units in the province during the last 8 months, Mehdipour said that putting these units back on their feet resulted in new jobs for some 800 people.
Mehdipour continued that by the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21, 2021), a total of 100 production and industrial units in this province will return to the production cycle.
Alborz province has 3,500 production and industrial units with employment of about 130,000 people.
