Uzbekistan, Indonesia to implement joint projects in textile industry

Uztekstilprom Association and PT.Pan Brothers Tbk - the largest garment manufacturer in Indonesia agreed to create a working group for the implementation of joint projects on trade and investment cooperation in the textile sector, Trend reports citing Dunyo.

In addition, the issues of establishing bilateral cooperation between Uzbek companies and PT. Pan Brothers Tbk in trade, investment and technology transfer spheres were considered.

According to the director of PT. Pan Brothers Tbk, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association Anne Patricia Sutanto, the company owns 25 factories in Indonesia with total number of employees amounting to 38,000. Finished products are exported to the US, EU countries and the Middle East.

The management of the Indonesian company was offered the organization of joint production, the creation of a textile cluster, as well as the conclusion of a franchise agreement with Uzbek manufacturers for the production of well-known brands with the subsequent export of finished products to the countries of the region.

The parties agreed to create a working group for the implementation of joint projects on trade and investment cooperation in the textile industry.

PT. Pan Brothers Tbk is Indonesia's largest ready-to-wear company with 130 million units per year. The company cooperates with such global brands as Adidas, H&M, Lacoste, Columbia, The North Face and others.
