Iran to monitor transactions on petrochem products on Mercantile Exchange

Iranian Petrochemical Downstream Industries Development Department (PDID) has announced an 8-percent growth in the production of petrochemicals, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

“Petrochemical complexes have complied with all their obligations in supply of various polymer and chemical products to the Iran Mercantile Exchange, based on the plans made,” Petrochemical Downstream Industries Development Department (PDID) said in a statement.

Petrochemical Downstream Industries Development Department (PDID) asked the Iran Stock Exchange to monitor the transaction of petrochemicals via Mercantile Exchange.

According to Mehr News Agency, production of petrochemical complexes reached more than 35 million tons by the end of October this year, which means an 8-percent increase compared to the same period last year, while some officials have reported a shortage of raw materials in the market.

According to the Petrochemical Downstream Industries Development Department (PDID), it is necessary foe Ministry of industry to assess whether the profit has been spent on production growth in downstream industries, or partly domestically consumed (to reduce imports) and partly exported.
