Iran declares details of its exports to neighboring countries

Iran exported 41.8 million tons of goods worth $11.5 billion to the neighboring countries during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through October 21, 2020), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

Mirashrafi emphasized that thus, the neighboring countries accounted for 63 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value and 64 percent in terms of volume.

“Furthermore, the neighboring countries accounted for Iran’s total foreign trade 59 percent in terms of volume and 51 percent in terms of value, he added.

The director-general noted Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to a total of 85 million tons worth about $38.3 billion over 7 months.

Mirashrafi said that Iran's foreign trade turnover with neighboring countries amounted to 50.4 million tons worth $19.6 billion.

According to him, Afghanistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and others are the neighboring countries with which Iran traded.

"Iran exported 17.7 million tons of goods worth $4.85 billion to Iraq and 8.5 million tons worth $2.27 billion to the United Arab Emirates in seven months," Mirashrafi said.

The director-general stressed that Iran also exported 4.79 million tons of goods worth $1.49 billion to Turkey, 4.07 million tons worth $1.32 billion to Afghanistan, and 1.26 million tons worth $491 million to Pakistan during the reporting period.
