Thailand’s share in Azerbaijan’s total import increases

The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Thailand in the past 9 months of 2020 made up $81 million, declining by $140 million compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the bulletin, the share of Thailand in the total import of Azerbaijan made up 0.43 percent ($33.6 million) of the total volume against 0.33 percent in the same period of 2019.

Meanwhile, the value of export of Azerbaijani products to Thailand amounted to $47.4 million, while a year earlier this figure was $187.1 million. As a result, the country’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export decreased from 1.26 percent to 0.45 percent.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period remained positive, equating to $13.8 million.

From January through September 2020, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up $18.4 billion, which is 27.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

The balance of the country’s annualized foreign trade turnover for the reporting period, despite a decrease of 38.6 percent, remained positive, equating to over $2.7 million.
