The largest share of foreign capital among newly created enterprises and organizations from January through October fell on the trade sector, amounting to 30.2 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
About 1,400 enterprises and organizations with the participation of foreign capital were created in Uzbekistan in 10 months this year.
Some 1,371 enterprises and organizations with the participation of foreign capital were newly created in Uzbekistan for 10M2020.
The committee reports that their total number as of November 1 amounted to 11,475.
Most of all, foreign capital among newly created enterprises and organizations is attracted by the trade sector (30.2 percent). This is followed by industry (27.6 percent), construction (11.2 percent), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (7.6 percent), accommodation and food services (3.9 percent), information and communication (3.4 percent) healthcare and social services (2.5 percent), transportation and storage (2.3 percent).
Earlier, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade reported that the total volume of utilized foreign investments in Uzbekistan from January to September of this year amounted to $7.2 billion (of which $5.7 billion in fixed assets), including $4.9 billion are a foreign direct investment, and $2.3 billion are funds from international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations.
