Trend:

Iran has considered extraterrestrial farming in Azerbaijan, head of agriculture and industries commission in Iran's Chamber of Commerce Ali Shariati told Trend.

"Iran has noticed that the extraterrestrial farming in Azerbaijan, in recent years, has gained high advantages," he said.

"Extraterrestrial farming is an important strategy in Iran's agriculture but there are still problems from the point of view of customs and domestic regulations, temporary entry and customs tariffs - all this hasn't been resolved. Iran's investment outside the country is facing issues of transferring money and technology and these obstacles should be removed," he said.

Shariati went on to say that extraterrestrial farming for Iran is an important solution to preserve water sources and increase country's trade balance, he said.

Aside from Azerbaijan, Venezuela and South American countries are among those destinations, where Iran is interested in extraterrestrial farming.

"Iran looks to witness increase of its cooperation in the field of extraterrestrial farming in next five years, work is ongoing in this regard," he said.

"Iran's agriculture production is the only sector that has been developing despite COVID-19. On the other hand in past 2,5 years we had good rainfalls, the farmers have changed their views on modernization," he said.
