Iran's economy remains strong and steady – Iran's president

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 26

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The oil, gas and petrochemical facilities that were put into operation in Iran today on Nov. 26, show that Iran's economy is strong and steady, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports citing Iranian President Office’s official website.

The president emphasized that Iran's economic success is based on the country itself and domestic production.

Rouhani added that necessary factors to increase production in various sectors are to attract local and foreign investments, supply raw materials, provide local and foreign technology and sell these products in local and international markets.

Rouhani noted that many infrastructures including raw materials for the petrochemical industry are available inside the country, at present.

“In addition, it is not enough to sell the product only to the local market. It is necessary to take into account the various markets in the world and pay attention to constructive cooperation,” he said.

The president also stressed that if technology does not develop, the expenses of production will be high. In this regard, the startup companies in Iran have taken great steps to develop local technology.

US sanctions against Iran have not prevented the import of foreign technology to Iran, Rouhani said.

On Nov. 26, a skid-mounted unit in Iran's Khuzestan province, gas condensate storage facilities in Bushehr province, and a plant of The Lordegan Urea Fertilizer Company in Chahar-Mahal and Bakhtiari provinces were put into operation.
