Iran's trade turnover with some Central Asian countries revealed

Iran's trade turnover with some Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020) was declared, Trend reports citing Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA).

According to the report, Iran exported $84 million worth of goods to Uzbekistan in 8 months. The exports decreased by 46 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. At the same time, Iran imported $56 million worth of goods from Uzbekistan over the reporting period. The imports decreased by 39 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Iran exported $77 million worth of goods to Turkmenistan within eight months. The exports decreased by 61 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. While Iran imported goods from Turkmenistan worth $7.1 million in this period. The imports decreased by 51 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

In addition, Iran exported $12 million worth of goods to Tajikistan over the 8 months. The exports increased by 30 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Also, Iran imported $4.7 million worth of goods from Tajikistan during the reporting period. The imports decreased by 64 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the report said.

According to the report, Iran exported $1.51 billion worth of goods to Afghanistan in the first eight months of the current Iranian year. The exports increased by 1 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Moreover, Iran imported $1.6 million worth of goods from Afghanistan. The imports decreased by 71 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Iran exported $590 million worth of goods to Pakistan during eight months. The exports decreased by 20 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. However, Iran imported $118 million worth of goods from Pakistan. The imports decreased by 57 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

According to the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported 75 million tons of goods worth $21.5 billion during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020). Iran's exports decreased by 19 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, Iran imported 21.8 million tons of goods worth $23.1 billion within 8 months of the current Iranian year.

Iran's imports decreased by 18 percent in terms of value and 1 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
