Iran discloses details of exports through West Azerbaijan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 22

A total of 804,000 tons of goods worth $1.69 billion were exported through the customs of the West Azerbaijan (northwestern Iran) during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through November 20, 2020), Supervisor of West Azerbaijan Customs Office Tohid Azarbod said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Azarbod emphasized that the exports increased by 38 percent in terms of value and decreased by 10 percent in terms volume.

“The exported goods were mainly rubber and metal products, petroleum products, factory carpets and others,” he added.

The official noted that 328,000 tons of goods worth $380 million imported through the customs of West Azerbaijan Province over 8 months.

According to him, the imported goods were mainly raw materials for manufacturing enterprises, spare parts, tires, profiles, industrial equipment, bananas, etc.

Azarbod said that these goods were mainly imported from Turkey, China, Ecuador and Iraq.
