Georgia reveals volume of exported nuts

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21

Nuts are the eighth largest exported commodity in Georgia, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Georgia received 112.8 percent more revenue from the sale of hazelnuts from January through March 2021 compared to the same period last year.

During this period, 4,411.9 tons of nuts worth $24.57 million were exported to 30 countries of the world. The number of importing countries increased from 21 to 29.

The top ten importing countries:

1. Germany - $5.5 million, 890.4 tons;
2. Italy - $3.1 million, 493 tons;
3. Russia - $2.2 million, 423.9 tons;
4. Lithuania - $1.5 million, 238 tons;
5. Armenia - $1.4 million, 319.1 tons;
6. France - $1.3 million, $ 206;
7. Belarus - $1.2 million, 226.6 tons;
8. Czech Republic - $1.2 million, 206.8 tons;
9. Saudi Arabia - $1 million 149 tons;
10. Spain - $888,800, 140 tons.

Nuts from Georgia were also exported to Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Canada, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Croatia, Israel, Australia, Australia, Denmark and Hungary.
