In Azerbaijan, The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO currently provides mainly technical assistance in the domains of macroeconomic stability and private sector development, but is always ready to examine new project ideas, SECO told Trend.
“Through its economic development cooperation programs, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO offers technical assistance to its partner countries in different domains.
As the type and design of public infrastructure services, for example energy supplies from renewable sources, has an influence on climate change, SECO already provides advisory support to some of its partner countries in the development and implementation of regulatory framework conditions in this regard,” said the Swiss State Secretariat.
Additionally, SECO said its economic development cooperation programs systematically take into account climate risks in the design and monitoring of its activities, in order to contribute to the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions and to support its partner countries in adapting to climate change.
SECO is the federal government’s centre of expertise for core issues relating to economic policy. Its aim is to ensure sustainable economic growth, high employment and fair working conditions by providing a stable environment for regulatory, economic and foreign trade policy.
