The UK Anglo Asian Mining (AAM) PLC will begin full-scale mining at the new Zafar gold and copper deposit in western Azerbaijan in the first half of 2023, Trend reports referring to the company.
The company said it plans to increase production in the next two years through the commissioning of the Zafar field.
"In July 2021, the first JORC mineral resource estimate will be given for this field, and in the fourth quarter of 2021, the final JORC mineral resource estimate will be given," the message says.
"Full-scale production at the deposit will begin in the first half of 2023. However, a certain part of the ore will begin to be mined as early as 2022," AAM said.
In January 2021, AAM announced the discovery of a new Zafar gold and copper deposit in the Gadabay license area.
Anglo Asian Mining PLC is a gold, copper and silver producer in Central Asia with a wide portfolio of production and exploration assets in Azerbaijan. The company's portfolio includes an area of 1,962 square kilometers.
