S. Korea to assist in implementation of small projects by entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan’s Fergana region

Uzbekistan will attract the capabilities of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) for technology transfer and assistance in the implementation of small projects by entrepreneurs of the Fergana region, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo news agency.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea, together with the Korean-Uzbek Business Association (KUBA), organized negotiations via videoconferencing between the Ferghana region khokimiyat (administartion), the Korean Bureau of Intellectual Property, and the Korean Association for the Promotion of Inventions.

First Deputy Chairman of CUBA Kim Chang Keon noted that the representation of the Association in the Fergana region is systematically working to identify new growth points and establish cooperation with the South Korean side.

In this regard, it was decided to attract the capabilities of KIPO for technology transfer and assistance in the implementation of small projects by entrepreneurs of the Fergana region. He stressed that CUBA will further strengthen cooperation for the development of industry and private entrepreneurship with the introduction of South Korean technologies.

In addition, the head of the secretariat for investments and foreign trade of the khokimiyat of the Fergana region, Bakhodir Toshtemirov, announced his readiness to prepare project proposals to attract grant funds from KIPA.

In conclusion, the parties reached an agreement on the promotion of joint projects, as well as agreed on the timing of the implementation of measures necessary to attract grant funds.

The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) was established in 1974 and is subordinate to the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). The main activities of the Association are aimed at promoting intellectual property and expanding support for patent management, as well as training personnel to deal with intellectual property issues. KIPA is also involved in enhancing the international competitiveness and economic development of South Korea by supporting technological innovation in the industrial sector through the systematic and effective implementation of projects to promote inventions.
