Kazakhstan reports increase in housing purchases

The number of purchases and sales of real estate in Kazakhstan amounted to 370,150 transactions over the period from January through August 2021, which is 2.1 times more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The total number of buy/sell transactions in Kazakhstan in August 2021 amounted to 46,457 transactions, which is 0.4 percent more than in July 2021 and 54 percent more than during the same month of 2020.

The largest number of transactions was observed in Almaty city where it amounted to 6,817 transactions, which is 0.2 percent less than in July 2021 and 53.6 percent more than in August 2020.

Almaty city is followed by Nur-Sultan city with 5,836 transactions, which is 2.2 percent more than during July 2021 and 61.2 percent more than in August 2020.

Karaganda region ranked third (5,327 transactions in August 2021), showing a 0.6 percent decrease compared to July 2021 and a 64.5 percent increase compared to August 2020.

The least number of purchases and sales of housing transactions during August 2021 was observed in the North Kazakhstan region (983 transactions, increase by 10.9 percent compared to July 2021 and increase by 7.7 percent compared to August 2020).
