Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved an agreement on the establishment of a Tajik-Uzbek investment company, Trend reports citing norma.uz legal information portal.
The agreement was signed during the official visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Dushanbe in June 2021.
The company is created in the form of an LLC with an initial authorized capital of $12 million with a phased increase to $50 million. The share of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan in the formation of its authorized capital is 75 percent, the share of State Unitary Enterprise "Tajinvest" is 25 percent.
The investment company will finance joint projects in Tajikistan. The main types of its work are investment by purchasing shares in existing and new enterprises, searching for and attracting foreign and domestic investors, allocating funds to the banks of Tajikistan on a commercial basis, and others.
The purpose of the investment company is to finance joint projects in Tajikistan. The main types of its activities are investment through the acquisition of shares in the authorized capital of existing and newly created economic entities, the allocation of loans, the issue of securities; realization of shares of an investment company in the authorized capital of economic entities to Tajik and foreign investors.
Moreover, the company’s work will include investment cooperation with international investment and financial institutions, including in Tajikistan, coordination of investment interaction with them, as well as support and assistance in the implementation of joint investment projects; search and attraction of foreign and domestic investors to expand the list of participants in the investment company; the allocation of funds to commercial banks in Tajikistan on a commercial basis.
