The value of Iran's mineral resources (in raw form) has increased by about $7 billion as a result of exploration operations over the past several years, the Head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Vajihollah Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to Jafari, if various final products are manufactured from the newly discovered resources, the value of these final products will reach about $271 billion.

Meanwhile, Jafari pointed out that considering the previously estimated mineral reserves, the value of final products stood at $774 billion. Thus, the overall value of final products from the accumulated mineral reserves would be $1.04 trillion.

"Currently, 10 types of minerals in Iran - gold, iron ore, stibium, barite, coal, bauxite, lead, zinc, copper, etc. - are worth about $39 billion," he said.
