Iran looking for solution to prevent rising unemployment

The Central Bank of Iran is cooperating with the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare to provide financial aid for creating sustainable jobs, said the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

Iran's banking network has paid 18,000 billion rials (about $428 million) advances in the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) to support employment however it failed to create new jobs, Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki noted.

The new minister has set a welfare to headquarter that include a section for creating jobs while the ministry is to deliver a report on unemployment and jobs every three months.

Official statistics indicate 2.4 million people are unemployed in Iran. Figures show 2.02 million have unsustainable jobs, 2 million were unsuccessful in finding an occupation while about 9.07 million have low-income work and 4.05 million working in unofficial jobs without insurance.
