Iran eyes increase in value of exports – IRICA

The value of Iran's exports increased by 16 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The spokesman said that Iran exported 8.55 million tons of goods worth about $4.03 billion in the 8th month.

"The main ten products exported were liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), methanol, polyethylene, unfinished iron products, propane, iron ingots, urea, bitumen, cathode copper, steel and iron poles," he added.

According to Latifi, Iran exported 2.44 million tons of goods worth about $1.39 billion to China, 1.89 million tons worth $640 million to Iraq, 355,000 tons worth $371 million to Turkey, as well as, 687,000 tons worth $345 million to the UAE and 267,000 tons worth $145 million to Afghanistan in the 8th month.

The customs official noted that, Iran's trade turnover for the reporting month amounted to 11.6 million tons worth about $8.32 billion, which is an increase of 27 percent in value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

As reported, Iran exported 83.7 million tons of goods worth $31.1 billion during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021).

The exports increased by 42 percent in terms of value and 10.5 percent, in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
