Reopening of industrial companies in Iran triggers return of workers

The reopening of industrial companies in Iran is affecting the drop in unemployment in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), Trend reports citing IRNA.

A total of 961 industrial units have resumed production since the start of the current year, and 15,492 employees have returned to work in industrial cities of Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran's Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization has launched a plan to revive 1,600 inactive production units that would lead to some 28,800 people returning to their jobs. Thus far, the plan has been realized by 60 percent.

A total of 41.1 trillion rials (about $979 million) has been invested in the revival of industrial companies across Iran. The active units are in the petrochemical, food, steel, textile, power industries.
